Dave Barry Takeover + Tom Ridout
Drum maestro, Dave Barry, takes the helm at Hugh & Marion’s for our summer concert with a stellar lineup: Tom Ridout (sax), Alex Hutton (keys) and Luke Fowler (bass).
Barry was born in Cardiff and studied at the Royal Academy of Music. He quickly established himself as a key figure on the British Jazz scene, performing with Art Farmer, Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Sonny Stitt, Mark Murphy, Mose Allison, Scott Hamilton among others. He has also featured in bands led by Don Weller, Mike Westbrook, Chris Biscoe, Dick Pearce, Alan Barnes, Don Weller and Art Themen, and currently leads his own: “FourCast” with Dave O’Higgins, Mike Outram and Phil Scragg.

About Us
We present world-class jazz concerts, two Thursdays a month, open to all: no membership required.
Our concerts take place in the comfortable lounge bar at Eltham Warren Golf Club, which is within walking distance of Eltham town centre and has its own free car park right outside.
We are named after the formidable Hugh & Marion Ockendon, who promoted live jazz in Eltham for over 32 years! Hugh, a classically trained pianist with a deep love of jazz, sadly died in 2020, followed by Marion, a cabaret artist and band vocalist, in October 2022.
Hugh & Marion’s legacy now continues under the stewardship of multi-award-winning vocalist, lyricist and producer Georgia Mancio (Alan Broadbent, ReVoice! Festival, Bobby McFerrin) and acclaimed drummer Dave Ohm (Ian Shaw, Benny Golson, Gregory Porter).
