Georgia Mancio

“[Mancio] has everything covered – technical mastery, expressive range and a remarkable
versatility”
  – The Observer 4****

Multi-award-winning jazz vocalist, lyricist and producer, Georgia Mancio, is a supreme storyteller and formidable force on today’s scene, creating work of beauty and bite, both personal and political.

Her copious industry acknowledgements include two Parliamentary Jazz Awards: Best Vocalist (2021) and Best Album (2020), and several nominations at the Jazz FM, British Jazz and Urban Music Awards. Her albums consistently chart Top Ten in prestigious end of year Critics’ Choices.

Her revered partnership with Grammy-winning pianist/composer Alan Broadbent, has yielded over 40 co-written works, three globally acclaimed albums (‘Songbook’,’Quiet Is The Star’ and ‘A Story Left Untold’) and performances across Europe and the US, including Ronnie Scott’s and Jazz at Lincoln Center (NYC). Other credits include: Liane Carroll, Ian Shaw, BBC Proms (2019), Pat Metheny (lyric approval), Bobby McFerrin and her own festivals ‘ReVoice!’ and ‘Hang’.

A joyously authentic artist, whether interpreting her own luminous originals or standards, Georgia’s performances connect deeply with her audiences and linger long in the mind. Tonight featuring stellar pianist James Pearson, legendary bassist Dave Green and longterm collaborator, drummer Dave Ohm.

About Us

We present world-class jazz concerts, two Thursdays a month, open to all: no membership required.

Our concerts take place in the comfortable lounge bar at Eltham Warren Golf Club, which is within walking distance of Eltham town centre and has its own free car park right outside.

We are named after the formidable Hugh & Marion Ockendon, who promoted live jazz in Eltham for over 32 years! Hugh, a classically trained pianist with a deep love of jazz, sadly died in 2020, followed by Marion, a cabaret artist and band vocalist, in October 2022.

Hugh & Marion’s legacy now continues under the stewardship of multi-award-winning vocalist, lyricist and producer Georgia Mancio (Alan Broadbent, ReVoice! Festival, Bobby McFerrin) and acclaimed drummer Dave Ohm (Ian Shaw, Benny Golson, Gregory Porter).
