Sam’s playing style balances the old and the new, informed by the language of the greats that went before him, but with an ear for contemporary improvisation and harmony. In this new project, he pays tribute to legendary Blue Note guitarist Grant Green, focusing on his 1960s output of burning modal jazz, standards and ballads, and groovy boogaloos. 

Sam is also much in demand with bands and artists including The Hot Club of Jupiter, Sammy Mayne, Karen Street, Simon Spillett, Shirley Smart and Nina Clark with whom he will tour later this year.
