"A model of the jazz singer's art" - The Guardian
Anita Wardell has long been one of the UK’s most respected artists: winning both a BBC Jazz Award (2006) and British Jazz Award (2014), and championed by vocal legends Mark Murphy and Norma Winstone.
She is noted for her dazzling improvisation, using her voice as her instrument with precision, agility and heartfelt emotion.
Having recently returned to the UK after 4 years in her native Australia, she releases Stars – a new duo album of standards and originals with pianist Dave McEvoy, in May.
Joined by her musical partner of 25 years, pianist Robin Aspland, plus bassist Steve Watts and drummer Dave Ohm, we are delighted to welcome Anita back to the club.
