Deschanel Gordon

Having graduated with First Class Honours from Trinity Laban in only 2020, pianist Deschanel Gordon went on to win the BBC Young Jazz Musician that same year.

Inspired by Oscar Peterson as a child, he switched from classical to jazz training, but his music embodies swing, groove and his Jamaican heritage, giving a remarkable blend of originality and versatility to his performances. This ability to navigate various styles has led to seamless collaborations with artists including Mark Kavuma, Cassie Kinoshi’s Seed, Nubya Garcia and Courtney Pine and make him a standout figure in the contemporary UK jazz scene.
